Job Description:

The Program Manager reports to the VP, Grassroots Advocacy, and is responsible for helping to support the day-to-day management and operations of the grassroots advocacy function, as well as helping coordinate broader advocacy campaigns across the association. The position will also support ABA’s Grasstops Program, as well as our Get Out the Vote (GOTV) campaign.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with VP, Grassroots Advocacy, support the development of grassroots and grasstops components of issue advocacy campaigns:

• Write and regularly update content for grassroots campaigns, communications, and website to keep advocates informed on key issues and to facilitate engagement with policymakers.

• Support member grassroots and grasstops programs, including the Grassroots Representatives and the Bank Ambassador Program; assist with planning and logistics for meetings.

• Provide timely reports on grassroots initiatives for internal and external audiences.

• Participate in and represent the organization at industry events; provide support for external engagement presence and opportunities.

• Serve as internal collaboration manager for the approval process, working within ABA departments to ensure timely approvals and quality control.

• Maintain grassroots database and platform; serve as day-to-day contact with grassroots platform vendor.

• Perform other administrative and support tasks as necessary to support the team.

• Other duties as assigned by business needs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or commensurate experience.

• Experience working in a professional setting, strong preference for demonstrated interest in, and experience working with advocacy, grassroots, and/or stakeholder engagement.

• Experience in the financial services space is strongly preferred.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Effective time management and ability to move quickly, yet accurately

• Excellent written and communication skills.

• Ability to work successfully within a team, as well as independently.

• Excellent customer service.

• Ability to travel (<20%).
